Why do we need a Foundation?

The concept derived from an acknowledgment that Huntingdale Golf Club members recognized their obligation to maintain and where possible continue to upgrade the very fine facilities handed down to them over the years since the original construction of the course and facilities.

There was a further acknowledgment that this could not reasonably be expected to be achieved from the normal income sources of the Club as Committees have always been faced with the need to keep increases in annual subscriptions as low as possible.

Objective of the Foundation

The objective of the Foundation is to establish an ongoing fund that will enable current Huntingdale Golf Club members and future generations, as a matter of pride, to continue to see that this great golfing facility is not only preserved but enhanced for the enjoyment of future generations. The Foundation will:

• Receive Bequests from present or past HGC Members who wish to acknowledge the value that membership has been in their lifetime
• Provide finance for projects that would otherwise not be possible from normal income sources of the Club
• Provide a means for HGC Members to have a strong voice in any special project they may wish to see undertaken at the Club

HGC Foundation Membership

All members of the Foundation will have their name included in a Foundation Register that will be appropriately displayed in perpetuity. The amount of any donation will not be shown in the register.

Contributions to the fund are voluntary

Those wishing to make a donation to the Foundation may do so in two ways:

1. A donation – either directly to the Foundation or, for those wishing to make a tax deductible donation, via the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF). Note: From 1/7/2015 the ASF will retain 5% of online donations and 6% of offline donations to cover their costs. Credit card surcharge on donations via the ASF are 1% for Visa/Mastercard and 2% for Amex.
2. A bequest provided for in a Member’s legally prepared Will. Advice on how to proceed with this can be obtained from the Trustee.

An official receipt will be forwarded to individual donors.
